For over 10 years, our company has been dynamically operating in the sales industry, delivering tens of thousands of barcode readers each year to many customers in Poland and around the world. The enormous experience that we have acquired during this time has made us able to meet even the most unusual customer requirements. One of the most frequently asked questions is related to the cooperation between the reader and the cash register.

The answer is not unequivocal - each barcode reader is adapted to work with any device, including a cash register and fiscal printers. It is worth making sure that the reader will be appropriate for the selected cash register.

The most important aspect is to read the operating instructions for the cash register and check which communication ports are responsible for connecting the barcode reader. The most popular interface is USB and RS232. The latter is rather found in industrial machines and devices. The PS / 2 connector is an old type input, which is currently not found in the latest cash registers.

It is worth remembering that not every barcode reader has each of these three types of cables, so it is worth checking this parameter before buying a specific model. The case is even different in the case of wireless readers - here we only find readers with a USB interface, and RS232 is currently rare.

Before buying a reader, it is also worth contacting the cash register supplier and asking if the reader must meet any special requirements (appropriate programming, keyboard / COM port emulation, etc.) to work with the selected cash register.
